"As a urologist whose practice is dedicated to minimally invasive urology, HIFU was an exciting addition to my practice. I became involved with HIFU 7 years ago and have seen remarkable results in my patients. The technological advances that we have seen with HIFU over the years translate to better treatment for prostate cancer with dramatically fewer side effects when compared to radical surgery (including robotic surgery) or the various forms of radiation. HIFU patients achieve excellent outcomes and typically return to normal activities quickly. Perhaps the best example of HIFU I can describe is when a close family member of mine was diagnosed with prostate cancer several years ago. He was 60 years old at the time and chose HIFU to treat his cancer. He is now cancer free and he avoided the side effects of other treatments including incontinence and erectile dysfunction. I am a strong believer in this remarkable technology."
